He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because there came unto him a blind man. 2 What made you think that he will not grow in virtue, 3 or have been reminded [of the truth,] and helped by this reminder. 4 For him who does not care, 5 To him do you address yourself. 6 And not upon you [is any blame] if he will not be purified. 7 But as to him who came to you running. 8 and in awe of God 9 Of him wast thou unmindful. 10 Assuredly this is a reminder 11 So whoever wishes may remember it. 12 in [the light of His] revelations blest with dignity, 13 uplifted, purified, 14 borne by the hands of scribes, 15 noble, pious. 16 Woe to man! How ungrateful he is! 17 Of what thing did He create him? 18 From Nutfah (male and female semen drops) He created him, and then set him in due proportion; 19 and made the path of guidance easy for him to follow. 20 and in the end He causes him to die and brings him to the grave; 21 Then He will raise him up again when He please. 22 No! Man has not yet accomplished what He commanded him. 23 Then let man look at his food, (and how We provide it): 24 That We pour forth water in abundance, 25 Thereafter We cleave the earth in clefts, 26 And We cause therein the grain to grow, 27 grapes, and fresh fodder, 28 And Olives and Dates, 29 and dense-tree'd gardens, 30 fruits, and grass. 31 For use and convenience to you and your cattle. 32 AND SO, when the piercing call [of resurrection] is heard 33 Man will fly from his brother, 34 and his mother and his father; 35 And from his wife and sons. 36 every man that day shall have business to suffice him. 37 [Some] faces, that Day, will be bright - 38 laughing, and rejoicing, 39 And (many) faces on that day, on them shall be dust, 40 with darkness overspread: 41 Such will be the Kafarah (disbelievers in Allah, in His Oneness, and in His Messenger Muhammad (Peace be upon him), etc.), the Fajarah (wicked evil doers). 42
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
