He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because the blind man came unto him. 2 And what should teach thee? Perchance he would cleanse him, 3 or take heed and derive benefit from [Our] warning? 4 As for him who regardeth himself self-sufficient 5 Unto him thou attendest. 6 though you will not be questioned even if he never purifies himself. 7 And to him who came to you eagerly 8 And he feareth 9 Him thou neglectest! 10 No indeed, this is a Reminder; 11 Therefore let whoso will, keep it in remembrance. 12 upon highly honored pages, 13 Exalted and purified, 14 In the hands of scribes 15 Who are noble, virtuous. 16 May man be slain – how ungrateful he is! 17 From what stuff hath He created him? 18 Out of a drop of sperm! He creates and proportions him, 19 Then He makes the Path easy for him; 20 Then He causes his death and provides a grave for him. 21 Then, when He will, He bringeth him again to life. 22 Indeed, he has not fulfilled that which He has ordered him. 23 Then let mankind look at his food - 24 That We watered it in abundance. 25 Thereafter We cleave the earth in clefts, 26 how We made the grain to grow, 27 And grapes and green fodder 28 and olives, and palms, 29 and gardens dense with foliage, 30 And fruits and grasses: 31 all this as a provision for you and your cattle. 32 But when the deafening blast is sounded, 33 On the day when a man fleeth from his brother 34 mother, father, 35 his wife and his sons: 36 Each man will have enough cares that day. 37 Many a face will be glittering on that day. 38 Laughing, joyous. 39 And [other] faces, that Day, will have upon them dust. 40 Veiled in darkness, 41 Such will be the Rejecters of Allah, the doers of iniquity. 42
