He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ (The Prophet) frowned and turned away, 1 Because there came to him the blind man (interrupting). 2 And what should teach thee? Perchance he would cleanse him, 3 Or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him? 4 As for him who is not in want of any thing, 5 to a rich man, 6 Though it is no blame to thee if he grow not (in spiritual understanding). 7 And as for him who cometh unto thee running, 8 And he fears, 9 Him thou neglectest! 10 Nay, (do not do like this), indeed it (these Verses of this Quran) are an admonition, 11 Let him who will, pay heed to it. 12 (It is) in Records held (greatly) in honour (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz). 13 Exalted, pure. 14 In the hands of scribes (angels). 15 noble and pious. 16 May (the disbelieving) human being be condemned! What makes him disbelieve? 17 From what has God created him? 18 Out of a drop of sperm! He creates and proportions him, 19 then the way eased for him, 20 Then He causes his death and provides a grave for him. 21 Then when He wills, He will resurrect him. 22 Nay, but (man) has not done what He commanded him. 23 Then let man look to his food, 24 how We pour down rain in abundance, 25 And We split the earth in clefts, 26 Then We cause therein the grain to grow, 27 and grape vines and vegetables, 28 and olive trees and date palms 29 the densely tree'd gardens, 30 And fruits and fodder: 31 an enjoyment for you and your flocks. 32 And when the Blast shall sound, 33 on the Day when each man shall flee from his brother, 34 Mother and father, 35 And from his wife and sons. 36 Every man of them shall on that day have an affair which will occupy him. 37 Some faces on that Day shall be beaming with happiness, 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news (of Paradise). 39 And (many) faces on that day, on them shall be dust, 40 Blackness overcoming them. 41 These are they who are unbelievers, the wicked. 42
God the Almighty always says the truth.
