He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because the blind man came unto him. 2 You never know. Perhaps he wanted to purify himself, 3 Or be admonished, and the admonition profit him? 4 For him who does not care, 5 Unto him thou payest regard. 6 Whereas it is not on thee that he is not cleansed. 7 And as for him who cometh unto thee running, 8 and fears (Allah), 9 From him thou art distracted. 10 Not this way this is the advice. 11 So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. 12 in [the light of His] revelations blest with dignity, 13 Exalted (in dignity), purified, 14 [borne] by the hands of messengers 15 Noble and pious. 16 Accursed be man! How stubbornly he denies the Truth. 17 From what has God created him? 18 From a sperm-drop: He hath created him, and then mouldeth him in due proportions; 19 Then the way He made easy. 20 Then He caused him to die and made him to be buried. 21 Then, when it is His Will, He will resurrect him (again). 22 Yet man declines to do His bidding. 23 Let man therefore consider (the sources of) his food. 24 We poured out the rains abundantly, 25 Then We cleave the earth, cleaving (it) asunder, 26 And We made corn grow, 27 And grapes and green fodder 28 olives, dates, 29 And enclosed Gardens, dense with lofty trees, 30 and fruits and herbage, 31 for you and for your animals to enjoy. 32 Then, when there comes As-Sakhkhah (the Day of Resurrection's second blowing of Trumpet), 33 On that day man will run away from his brother. 34 and from his mother and father, 35 And his spouse and his son-- 36 Each one of them, that Day, will have enough concern (of his own) to make him indifferent to the others. 37 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 And some faces will on that Day with dust be covered, 40 enveloped by darkness. 41 It is they, the disbelievers, the sinners. 42
Almighty Allah's Truth.
