He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ He frowned and turned away. 1 Because there came unto him a blind man. 2 What made you think that he will not grow in virtue, 3 Or be admonished, and the admonition profit him? 4 Now as for him who believes himself to be self-sufficient 5 you attended to him, 6 though it is not thy concern, if he does not cleanse himself. 7 but as for him who came unto thee full of eagerness 8 And is afraid (of Allah and His Punishment), 9 From him you are distracted. 10 These verses are a reminder 11 So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. 12 (It is) in Books held (greatly) in honour, 13 Exalted (in dignity), kept pure and holy, 14 (Written) by the hands of scribes- 15 and angelic scribes. 16 Woe to man! What hath made him reject Allah; 17 From what did He create him? 18 Of a drop of seed. He created him and formed him according to a measure. 19 then eased his path for him, 20 Then causeth him to die, and burieth him; 21 Then when He wills, He will resurrect him. 22 Yet man declines to do His bidding. 23 Then let man look at his food, 24 We let the rain pour down in torrents 25 and then We cleave the earth [with new growth,] cleaving it asunder, 26 how We made the grain to grow, 27 And Grapes and nutritious plants, 28 And olives and date palms, 29 thickly planted gardens, 30 and fruits and pastures 31 as provision for you and for your cattle to enjoy. 32 Then when cometh the Deafening Cry 33 That Day shall a man flee from his own brother, 34 and from his mother and father, 35 And his wife and his children, 36 Each man will have enough cares that day. 37 Many a face will be glittering on that day. 38 laughing and joyous 39 Some faces on that Day shall be dust-ridden, 40 Blackness will cover them: 41 those -- they are the unbelievers, the libertines. 42
Almighty God's Truth.
