He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ HE FROWNED AND turned away, 1 Because there came to him the blind man (i.e. 'Abdullah bin Umm-Maktum, who came to the Prophet (Peace be upon him) while he was preaching to one or some of the Quraish chiefs). 2 What could inform thee but that he might grow (in grace) 3 Or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him? 4 For him who does not care, 5 To him dost thou attend; 6 Yet it is not thy concern if he grow not (in grace). 7 But as to him who came to thee striving earnestly, 8 And is also fearful (of God), 9 to him thou payest no heed. 10 No! Indeed, these verses are a reminder; 11 (and whoso wills, shall remember it) 12 [It is recorded] in honored sheets, 13 lofty and pure, 14 by the hands of the noble, virtuous, 15 Honourable and obedient. 16 Perish the human! How unthankful he is! 17 From what substance did He create him? 18 From a sperm-drop: He hath created him, and then mouldeth him in due proportions; 19 and then made the course of life easy for him, 20 Then gave him death, so had him put in the grave. 21 Then, when He will, He bringeth him again to life. 22 Not one he has not yet completed what he was commanded. 23 Then let man look at his food, 24 how We pour down rain in abundance, 25 and then We cleave the earth [with new growth,] cleaving it asunder, 26 how We made the grain to grow, 27 grapes, vegetables, 28 And olive-trees and palm-trees 29 thickly planted gardens, 30 and fruits and fodder 31 as provision for you and for your cattle to enjoy. 32 But, when the Blast comes, 33 on a Day when everyone will [want to] flee from his brother, 34 And from his mother and his father, 35 And from his wife and his children. 36 For every one of them on that Day shall be business enough to occupy 37 (Many) faces on that day shall be bright, 38 laughing and joyous 39 And many a face will be covered with dust on that day. 40 Covered with the blackness (of shame): 41 These will be the faces of the sinful disbelievers. 42
Almighty God's Truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
