He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man (interrupting). 2 You never know. Perhaps he wanted to purify himself, 3 Or be admonished, so that the admonition might have profited him? 4 As for him who regardeth himself self-sufficient 5 you attended to him, 6 Yet it is not thy concern if he grow not (in grace). 7 but as for one who comes to you, eagerly 8 and fearfully, 9 You neglect. 10 Not this way – this is the advice. 11 So let whosoever will pay heed to it, 12 upon highly honored pages, 13 exalted, purified, 14 borne by the hands of scribes, 15 Honourable and Pious and Just. 16 May man be slain – how ungrateful he is! 17 From what substance did He create him? 18 He created him from a living germ. He determined his fate 19 Then maketh the way easy for him, 20 He will then send him to death and have him laid in the grave. 21 and then, if it be His will, He shall raise him again to life, 22 Nay, but [man] has never yet fulfilled what He has enjoined upon him! 23 Then let man look at his food, 24 how We pour down rain in abundance, 25 and then We cleaved the earth asunder. 26 Thereby produced grain in it. 27 And grapes and herbage 28 And olive-trees and palm-trees 29 And enclosed gardens luxuriant. 30 And fruits and fodder,- 31 A provision for you and for your cattle. 32 AND SO, when the piercing call [of resurrection] is heard 33 on that Day a man shall flee from his own brother, 34 and his mother and his father; 35 his consort, his sons, 36 every man that day shall have business to suffice him. 37 Some faces on that day shall shine 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 And other faces, on that day, with dust upon them, 40 Dust shall cover them 41 Those are the disbelievers, the wicked ones. 42
