He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ He frowned and turned away. 1 Because there came to him the blind man. 2 You never know. Perhaps he wanted to purify himself, 3 Or that he may accept advice, so the advice may benefit him. 4 As for him who considers himself free from need (of you), 5 Unto him thou payest regard. 6 though you are not to be blamed if he would not purify himself -- 7 But as to him who came to you running. 8 While he fears [Allah], 9 From him you are distracted. 10 No indeed; it is a Reminder 11 So whoever wishes may remember it. 12 In honored books, 13 Exalted, purified, 14 In the hands of scribes (angels). 15 Noble and pious. 16 Cursed be man! how ungrateful is he! 17 From what stuff hath He created him? 18 Out of a drop of sperm! He creates and proportions him, 19 Then the way He made easy. 20 Then He caused him to die and be buried 21 Then when He pleases, He will raise him to life again. 22 Nay, but [man] has never yet fulfilled what He has enjoined upon him! 23 Let man consider his food: 24 That We pour down the water, pouring (it) down in abundance, 25 And We split the earth in clefts, 26 and therein made the grains to grow 27 grapes, vegetables, 28 And olive and palm trees 29 Orchards thick with trees, 30 And fruits and herbage 31 A provision for you and your cattle. 32 But when the deafening cry comes, 33 The day on which a man shall fly from his brother, 34 And from his mother and father, 35 And from his wife and his children. 36 every man that day shall have business to suffice him. 37 Some faces on that day will be radiant, 38 laughing and joyous 39 And [other] faces, that Day, will have upon them dust. 40 o'erspread with darkness -- 41 these, these will be the ones who denied the truth and were immersed in iniquity! 42
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
