He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away. 1 because the blind man approached him! 2 And what could let you know? Perhaps he (comes to hear you) to be purified. 3 or have been reminded [of the truth,] and helped by this reminder. 4 Now he who waxes indifferent, 5 you attend to him, 6 Whereas it is not on thee that he is not cleansed. 7 But as for him who cometh unto thee with earnest purpose 8 While he fears [Allah], 9 From him will you divert yourself. 10 No indeed; this is only a Reminder. 11 Therefore let whoso will, keep it in remembrance. 12 in [the light of His] revelations blest with dignity, 13 exalted and purified, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 noble and pious. 16 Woe to man! How ungrateful he is! 17 [Does man ever consider] out of what substance [God] creates him? 18 Out of a drop of sperm! He creates and proportions him, 19 Then eased the way for him. 20 Then He causes him to die, and puts him in his grave; 21 then, He will raise him when He wills. 22 But no. He has not fulfilled what was enjoined on him. 23 Then let man look to his food, 24 We poured water, pouring it in great abundance, 25 And We split the earth in clefts, 26 And We cause therein the grain to grow, 27 And grapes and herbage, 28 And olive-trees and palm-trees 29 And enclosed Gardens, dense with lofty trees, 30 And fruit and grass - 31 For use and convenience to you and your cattle. 32 Then, when there comes As-Sakhkhah (the Day of Resurrection's second blowing of Trumpet), 33 on the Day when each man shall flee from his brother, 34 And from his mother and his father, 35 his wife and his sons: 36 Everyone on that Day will have affairs to keep him occupied. 37 on that Day some faces will be beaming, 38 laughing, rejoicing at glad tidings. 39 but some faces will be covered with dust 40 Blackness overcoming them. 41 Those, they are the unbelievers, the immoral. 42
