He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ HE FROWNED AND turned away, 1 Because there came to him the blind man (i.e. 'Abdullah bin Umm-Maktum, who came to the Prophet (Peace be upon him) while he was preaching to one or some of the Quraish chiefs). 2 But what could tell thee but that perchance he might grow (in spiritual understanding)?- 3 Or be admonished, so that the admonition might have profited him? 4 For him who does not care, 5 to a rich man, 6 Whereas it is not on thee that he is not cleansed. 7 And he who comes to thee eagerly 8 And is afraid (of Allah and His Punishment), 9 of him you were unmindful. 10 No indeed; it is a Reminder 11 So let him who pleases mind it. 12 (This Quran) is also recorded in honorable books, 13 Exalted (in dignity), purified, 14 [borne] by the hands of messengers 15 Noble and righteous. 16 Perish Man! How unthankful he is! 17 From what did He create him? 18 From a single sperm He created, then proportioned him, 19 then the way eased for him, 20 Then He causeth him to die, and putteth him in his grave; 21 Then, when it is His Will, He will resurrect him (again). 22 Nay, but (man) hath not done what He commanded him. 23 Let man look at his food: 24 We poured out the rains abundantly, 25 And We split the earth in clefts, 26 We make the grain grow out of it, 27 and grape vines and vegetables, 28 Olives and dates, 29 And thick gardens, 30 and fruits and pastures 31 an enjoyment for you and your flocks. 32 But when the deafening blast is sounded, 33 on that Day a man shall flee from his own brother, 34 And his mother and his father, 35 his wife and his sons: 36 on that Day each will be occupied with his own business, making him oblivious of all save himself. 37 On that day faces will be bright as dawn, 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news (of Paradise). 39 And many will be dust-begrimed, 40 with darkness overspread: 41 those -- they are the unbelievers, the libertines. 42
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: He Frowned ('Abasa). Sent down in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
