The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 And when the pages are made public 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 and brightening morning, 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 where then are you going? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
