The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 And when the stars fall, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas rise, 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 The closing night, 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
