The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 And when the souls are paired 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
