The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 Oh, but I call to witness the planets, 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Where then will you go? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
