The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is covered, 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 And when souls are united, 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 So where are you going? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
