The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is wound up; 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
