The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 And the night when it departs, 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 Where then will you go? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
