The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 And the close of night, 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 When whither go ye? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
