The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 And when the pages are made public 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 And the close of night, 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
