The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas rise, 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was killed 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 And the breath of morning 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Where then are you going? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
