The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 and the night that falls, 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
