The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Where then are you going? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
