The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 when the savage beasts shall be mustered, 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 The closing night, 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
