The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 And the close of night, 17 And the breath of morning 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation. 29
