The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 And the close of night, 17 The rising dawn, 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
