The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 by the night when it approaches 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
