The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 And when the stars darken, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
