The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 And when the stars fall, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 that hide, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 So whither do you stray? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
