The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 When whither go ye? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
