The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is overthrown, 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 And when souls are united, 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 BUT NAY! I call to witness the revolving stars, 15 that hide, 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 Where then will you go? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
