The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 Oh, but I call to witness the planets, 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
