The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 And when the souls are paired 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 And when the pages are made public 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 When whither go ye? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
