The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun is covered, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
