The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 And when the stars fall, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 And when the books are spread, 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 Where then will you go? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
