Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 Oh, but I call to witness the planets, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And the night when it departs, 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 So where are you going? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
