The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sun is covered, 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 And when souls are united, 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 and the night that falls, 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
