The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 Then where are you going? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
