Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Where then are you going? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
