The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 And when the stars darken, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
