The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 And when the stars fall, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation. 29
