The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 And the close of night, 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 Then where are you going? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
