The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 And the night when it departs, 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 where then are you going? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
