The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
