The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 And when the stars fall, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 And when the seas rise, 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 The rising dawn, 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
