The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
