The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 And when the seas rise, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 Where then are you going? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
God the Almighty always says the truth.
