The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 by the night when it approaches 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
