The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas rise, 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, 8 For what sin she was killed 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 that hide, 16 And the close of night, 17 And the breath of morning 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Then where are you going? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
