The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 by the night swarming, 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 Where then will you go? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
