The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 when the savage beasts shall be mustered, 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
